July Favourites!

Can you believe it’s already August? I believe in appreciating the little things in life, so I wanted to take a moment and dedicate a blog post to outlining my favourite things from this month. I will focus mostly on reading, writing, and movies and television.

I haven’t read much this month but I have started reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and my gosh am loving it. I am (still) only halfway through but I can already tell that this book is going to be a favourite.

I have been getting into watching more movies lately since the new SBS World Movies channel began in early July. My top five movies that I have seen this month are Pan’s Labyrinth, The Lunchbox, The Parisian B*tch, Love and Mercy, and Vicky Donor. All these movies are all so vastly different and many are in different languages. Because they’re all so different, I appreciate them all in different ways.

This blog!

It has been just one month since I started this blog and I am so glad that I did. I have been writing so much more lately than I typically would have. I have also seriously enjoyed reading and commenting on other bloggers’ posts and love responding to comments others make on my posts. I have always loved writing and so it’s been fantastic being able to write pieces and post them on my blog.

Television shows: By far my favourite genre of television shows has always been the sitcom. Recently I have been getting into watching a show called M*A*S*H. M*A*S*H is an old sitcom which takes place in the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War. It uses humour to juxtapose and deal with the horror of the impacts of war. After hearing good things about this show, I decided to give it a chance and lo and behold I actually like it a lot.

What are your favourite things from July?
